Markus Gellesch
Research Fellow
Dr Markus Gellesch is an experimental Physicist. He currently works on developing cold atoms and optical clock technology for real-world applications. He has a background in solid state physics with a focus on magnetism and intermetallic materials.
Currently, he is working on transportable lattice clocks as part of the EU quantum flagship project iqClock. Markus coordinates summer students and internships in the group. He also has a strong interest in outreach work and has recently collaborated with a local artist to realise a comic booklet on the theme of optical atomic clocks (http://quantumclocks.the-comic.org/).
Markus is an alumni of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and a reviewer for the Journal of Alloys and Compounds.
